The Goolwa Barrage
The Goolwa Barrage separates the river from the sea and the lock is a great place to watch boats go through as well as view seal and bird life. A must visit.

Bristow Smith Reserve
Bristow Smith Reserve is a family favourite nature play space featuring a 10 meter long restored wooden fishing boat, water play and creek bed, sensory walk, climbing nets, slides, basket swings and more. It also has an upgraded beach area, BBQ’s and shelters.

There are so many great beaches close by to enjoy in both summer and winter including Goolwa Beach, Horseshoe Bay, Middleton Beach and the Murry Mouth.

Steam Ranger
The famous Cockle train travels along the oldest steel railway in Australia past the most picturesque coastal scenery on the Fleurieu Peninsula from the historic port of Goolwa to Victor Harbour. A great outing the whole family will enjoy.

Whale Watching
From late May to October the whales migrate to the warmer, sheltered waters of Encounter Bay to socialise, court, and raise their calves before heading back down south to Antarctica. Whales can be viewed from multiple locations along the south coast.

Coorong National Park
Just down the road from Narnu, you can visit the Murray Mouth and see the entrance to the Coorong National Park. If you want to see more we can direct you to a great local walk along the river, through the dunes to the Murray Mouth - a fabulous walk that will show you indigenous Narrindjeri middens, exquisite bird life, sensational views and lots of fun!
